There is a large traffic island on the South side of
Shrewsbury where the A49 from Church Stretton runs North to cross the new
bypass. Whichever way approach Shrewsbury you can pick up
the bypass and it will lead you to this island. Adjacent to
it is Dobbies Garden
Centre and a petrol station. We are less than five minutes from this island.
Directions from the
Island
Go North towards the town centre.
Go straight over a small island and passing Sainsbury's,
McDonalds and the retail park, continue until you come to traffic lights and
a large island.
Take the second exit over small bridge - Brooklands Hotel is
on the left.
Take the second left (first is a No Entry) into Upper Road.
After Entering Into Upper Road
Carry on approximately 150 yards into one way system until
you see a large white house on a bend to the right.
Turn left and right immediately (go down the left hand side
of this white house) into Church Lane. You will see the church in front of
and three white gate posts. Our driveway is between the left gate post and
the centre one.
Directions From Town Centre
Leave town by the Welsh Bridge following road to the island.
Take the first exit and almost immediately take the left
fork.
Go up Porthill Road until you reach an island - turn left
into Roman Road.
Straight on at the next island - continue down hill past
cemetery on left. Take first right into Upper Road and follow directions
above...."After entering into Upper Road".
